Everyday Royalty — Because Every Girl Needs a Goblet

With my sequins and tiara post, I’m sure everyone figured out I love shiny, girly things. One of my all-time favorite obsessions, though, is goblets. Yes—goblets. I love collecting old ones and drinking from them regardless of the drink, time, or day.

A goblet has the power to transform an ordinary sip into a moment of luxury. Even plain water feels like fine dining when it’s in a spectacular cup. During the workday, I’ll pour water, tea, or even Diet Coke with lime into a goblet. Suddenly, my boring, humdrum day feels just a little more fancy and fun.

Our goblet rack in the kitchen—my favorite view while doing dishes.

Goblets on Zoom Calls

Here’s a quirky perk: during Zoom or Teams meetings, the moment someone sees me sipping from an ornate goblet, I’ve got their attention. I’ve had to explain more than once, “It’s just water. I just like feeling fancy!” But honestly, it makes me smile—and that’s what matters most.

Even Diet Coke with lime feels like fine dining in a goblet.

Treasure Hunting for Goblets

I pick my goblets up at trade days, estate sales, and occasionally thrift stores. My husband has tried to put the kibosh on my goblet buying (he’s convinced I have enough), but I just can’t resist—especially when I find one with an amazing color or a particularly ornate design.

A peek inside the one of cabinets—there’s no such thing as too many goblets, right?

When he built our barndo, he added a hanging wineglass rack above the kitchen sink. It’s one of my favorite features. We have all shapes, sizes, and colors of wineglasses and goblets dangling from it. The only challenge is that the rack limits what can hang, depending on the stem size. So, some of the glasses are simple colored wineglasses—not as fancy, but still in regular rotation. I have more goblets in my china cabinet and at the city house!

Everyday Fancy

Goblets remind me that little luxuries can make an ordinary day feel extraordinary. Whether it’s coffee in a teacup, water in a goblet, or dinner on the “good” plates, these small touches create joy and fun where we least expect it.

What About You?

Does anyone else have a quirky item they collect—or a small daily ritual that helps make life more fun? I’d love to hear your stories!

  1. The goblets in the sunlight look great! I have to say the Quirky Town Mosaic is my favorite part of the picture.

Diet Coke and lime, YUM! The only thing better would be a Diet Coke from McDonalds!
